NNTEP PURPOSE:
NNTEP is a unique funding program that provides services to Navajo students pursuing their educational degree, on or near the Navajo Nation. NNTEP makes it possible to earn a Bachelor degree on a part-time basis. The funding is available for undergraduates only.
NNTEP signifies the need for preservation of the Din4 Language and culture by producing qualified Navajo teachers and administrators to be the role models and change agents within schools serving Navajo children. NNTEP also advocates for Teacher quality on behalf of the Navajo Teachers at the Tribal, State, and National levels.
NNTEP GOALS:
Our priority is to give support to Navajo Teachers who strive to become bilingual, bicultural, and certified educators.
The funding is non-need based and is available to those undergraduate students who meet eligibility and academic requirements.
REQUIREMENTS OF NNTEP:
Any student who applies must be in good academic standing with ONNSFA and Federal Funding programs.
Students are required to take a Navajo Language or Navajo Culture emphasis concurrently with each college/university's teacher education courses.

Step 1: Gain full (regular) admission into a participating college/university in the Education program.

NOTE: Each college/university have their own entry requirements and timelines. Consult with an advisor to obtain your program of study, official transcripts, and a letter of admissions for your degree program.
Step 2: Submit six required documents to NNTEP.
NNTEP SIX DOCUMENTS REQUIRED:
1. NNTEP Part-time Application Undergraduate.
2. Official Letter of Admission to participating Institution.
3. Official Certificate of Indian Blood (CIB).
4. Program of Study, with Advisor's signature.
5. Official Transcripts from previous Institutions.
6. Registration form for term applying for.
STUDENTS MUST:
As part of the NNTEP funding requirements, the applicant needs to complete an Emphasis in either Navajo Language or Navajo Culture, taken concurrently each semester with teacher education courses. Navajo courses have to be taken through Din4 College. See your Din4 College advisor for program of study and admissions information.
